Opener Wayne Osborne blasted a fine century while medium pacer Heera Sukram bagged six wickets to guide Sans Souci to a 169-run victory over Zeelandia when the Wakenaam Cricket Committee/Birbal Constructing Establishment T20 tournament commenced on Sunday last.
Osborne struck eight fours and nine sixes in his entertaining 121 while Jaggernauth Manbodh slammed five fours and six sixes in scoring 75 as Sans Souci posted a challenging 288-7, batting first at Zeelandia.
Teenage spinner Ryan Atkinson grabbed 4-35 and Ajay Ghansham 3-51. The home team was bowled out for 119 in 17.1 overs, in reply. Navishaul Pooran struck 45 as Sukram bagged 6-19 and Devon Rambarran 2-12.
At the Wakenaam Community Centre ground (WCCG), Sans Souci Jaguars beat Noitgedacht Sports Club by 47 runs. Sans Souci Jaguars batted first and managed 167-9. Beesham Moses stroked 62 while Zameer Zaman made 39; Michael Retemiah took 2-24 and Matthew Cheong had 2-32.
Noitgedacht SC were bowled out for 120 in 16.2 overs in reply. Jaleel Brown made 19 as Nokta Moses picked up 3-22, Derwin Daniels 2-12 and Beesham Moses 2-13. Good Success defeated G Square Cavaliers by 10 wickets.
G Square Cavaliers took first strike and were sent packing for 109 in 20 overs. Mahendra Dindyal scored 28 and Balram Persaud 16. Gurnauth Khemraj captured 3-22, Diquan Clarke 2-10 and Imran Khan 2-14.
Good Success responded with 110 without loss in 9 overs. Mahase Ramnarine slammed eight fours and six sixes in a top score of 83 while Bhumeshwar Ramkissoon made 22 not out. The Competition continues on Sunday.
