Wayne Blair, 28, and Ezra Evans, 25, found themselves before the court after they were caught by public spirited persons, when they allegedly robbed a man of his bicycle, cash and a cell phone. They both denied the joint charge.
It was alleged that on March 21, 2019 at Evans Street, Charlestown, the men while armed with a knife, they robbed James Walters of his bicycle, cash and a cell phone.
At the time the charge was read the men were arraigned before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Blair told the court that he is the father of one and resides at Albouystown. The labour said that he was previously incarcerated for three years for a robbery and was released in 2015.
On the other hand, Evans who was never before the court, said that he is labourer from Lot 57 West Ruimveldt.
Police prosecutor Quinn Harris objected to bail being granted to the two defendants based on the seriousness, penalties and prevalence of the offence.
According to the prosecutor the men were positively identified by the victim at the scene of the crime when they were apprehended by public-spirited persons. The police were then called in and the two defendants were arrested, taken into police custody and charged
Bail was refused for the defendants by the magistrate and they were remanded to prison. They were instructed to return on April 29, 2019 for statements into the matter.
