The Berbice Cricket Board organised Elizabeth Styles Under-21 Cricket Tournament continued recently in the Ancient County. A total of 20 teams are participating in the Knockout 50-Overs Tournament which is being sponsored by USA Based Cosmetics brand, Elizabeth Styles. Promising players Kevlon Anderson, Adrian Sukhwa and Marvin Prashad each scored centuries for their teams. The Defending Champions, Blairmont Community Centre, were defeated by D’Edward Cricket Club but still advanced to the Quarter Finals after D’Edward were found guilty of playing an over-aged player by the Berbice Cricket Board.
The Berbice Cricket Board would be organising over 30 Tournaments in 2019 for its members. Tournaments for Junior Players would also be organised at the Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-23 levels in a well structured developmental programme in Berbice.
Anderson blasted 110 in a well timed innings as Rose Hall town Gizmos & Gadgets amassed 349 all out in 48.4 Overs versus Bush Lot Rising Star. He received support from Jonathan Rampersaud 51, Mahendra Gopilall 55 and Nicholas Lawson 23. Latchman Dauna 2 for 28 and Nicholas Shivrattan 2 for 65 were Bush Lot Rising Star best bowlers. The visitors were then bowled out for 146 in 24.5 Overs to lose by 203 runs. Kris Ramnarine 25, Prakash Bharrat 13 and Navindra Prasad 26 were the principal batters as Anderson 3 for 21 and Kevin Sinclair 3 for 29 bowled well for Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets.

2. At Scottsburg Ground: Rama Krishna Cricket Club defeated Scottsburg United by 7 wickets.

3. At Edinburgh Ground: Blairmont Community Centre defeated Edinburgh Cricket club by 208 runs.

4. At Bush Lot Ground: Bush Lot Rising Star defeated Paradise Cricket Club by 8 wickets.

5. At D’Edward Ground: D’Edward Cricket Club defeated Achievers Cricket Club by 5 runs.

6. D’Edward Cricket Club defeated Blairmont Community Centre by 2 runs but later lost the match after being found guilty of playing an over-aged player by the BCB Competitions Committee.
