Wellman Masters defeated Regal Masters by four runs when the teams collided in a 20-over fixture Sunday at the Malteenoes Sports Club.
Batting first, Wellman Masters posted 177-6 off their allotted overs. Lloyd Rooplall struck five fours and one six in an even half century, while Rawle Reid made 33 with three fours and two sixes and Wayne Jones 33 not out. Tyrone Sanasie claimed 2-26 and Parsram Persaud 2-44.
Regal Masters threatened, but finished on 173-5 in reply. Eric Thomas stroked an unbeaten 45 which contained two fours and three sixes, Rudolph Baker scored 44 not out with five sixes and Mahase Chunilall 36. Latchman Kallicharran captured 2-10 and Sheldon Perch 2-33. Kallicharran was named man-of-the-match.
