DEAR EDITOR,
It is nice to know that Guyanese can stand up and say, enough is enough.
I have been following the situation, with Rusal workers, blocking the river and being on strike. I am very proud of them and hope that they will prevail.
So many times you can read of foreigners, investing in smaller countries and taking advantage of the workers. I hope the Government takes hold of this and other similar situations.
Being in Canada for over forty years, I can remember being in many conflicts, at work, with other drivers, shopping, travelling in public transportation, even in classrooms. My fellow Canadians, would say to me and to others, in a fight or disagreement, “ Why don’t you go back where you come from.” I must say, I find it very funny today, just to entertain the thought of my fellow Guyanese saying to the foreigners, “Go back where you come from.”
