The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) continues to render assistance to the Venezuela migrants crossing Guyana’s borders in an effort to escape the social and economic crisis in their homelands.
On Saturday, 12 migrant families in Kamwatta, Barima-Waini, Region One, received much-needed hampers from the CDC.
Additional supplies are currently being mobilised to be delivered to communities in the region as well as in Region Seven in the coming week.
The National Multi-Sectoral Coordinating Committee, through the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), has been providing relief to migrants in the border regions.
Over the last few months, Guyana has seen an increase in the number of Venezuelans crossing the border to escape the political and socio-economic crisis in their homeland. (DPI)
