Tuschen Train Station Masjid and La Bonne Intention (LBI) recorded victories when the play in the Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Inter-Jamaat 15-over softball competition continued on Sunday last at MYO ground.
Tuschen Train Station Masjid defeated Corneila Ida/Hague Jamaat by 49 runs. Tuschen Train Station Masjid managed 164-7 after they were sent in. Rajesh Babooram made 40 with two fours and a similar number of sixes while Aslam Wajid and Feroze Rahaman made 26 each. Mohamed Omar and Amir Hussain picked up two wickets each.
Corneila Ida/Hague Jamaat were bowled out for 115 in 12.4 overs in reply. Opener Nazim Azeez got 42 (5×6) while Amir Hussain made 28. Talim Gafoor picked up 3-2 from one over while Arshad Azim and Harry Singh had two each.
LBI overcame MYO by 3 wickets. MYO playing with nine players took first strike and made 113 all out in 14.2 overs. Majeed Khan hammered two fours and five sixes before he was the last batsman to be dismissed for 57 while Azad Ibrahim made 13; Kevin Persaud picked up 4-14 and Safraz Ally 2-12.
LBI struggled somewhat but eventually reached their target in 13.2 overs losing 7 wickets. Safraz Ally made 47 and Chris Khan 22. Javid Kayume captured 3-11 while Khan and Fazal Nazeem took two apiece for 15 and 18 runs respectively.
