This year’s edition of the East Coast Cricket Committee/SPR Enterprise 40 overs cricket tournament continued last Sunday with several matches. At Ogle; Ogle SC Blasters defeated Lusignan S C (B) by 93 runs.
Ogle SC Blasters batted first and posted 199-8 from 40 overs. Andrew Samaroo struck 69 while Michael Deonarine made 38. Navin Persaud took 3-37 (8 overs) for Lusignan B who were bowled out for 106 in 24 overs. Sahadeo Ramkellawan scored 47. Davindra Ratahal took 2-4 and S. Gossain 2-6.
Host Better Hope Sixers thumped Cane Grove New Generation SC by 125 runs in a game that was affected by rain. Better Hope Sixers managed 225-6 off their reduced quota of 23 overs, batting first. Rajindra Singh and Rajendra Dhanraj scored 61 and 37 respectively. Y. Umroa had 3-60 from five overs. Cane Grove SC were dismissed 100 in 14 overs with Jayadev Manna taking 6-24 from 3.3 (overs).
LBI SC overcame Strathavon SC (B) by 134 runs at Strathavon ground. M. Persaud stroked an unbeaten 102 with six fours and four sixes while I. Mohammed contributed 37 in LBI SC total of 249 all out in 30 overs.
Strathavon SC (B) were bowled out for 115 in 27 overs in reply. C. Seepaul and R. Dowlatram captured four and three wickets respectively. At Enterprise, Enterprise Busta Sports Club won by 6 wickets against Golden Achievers SC. Golden Acvievers SC took first knock and were bowled out for 99 in 26 overs with Sherfane Rutherford scoring 24.
Chatterpaul Singh grabbed 4 wickets and Vivian Albert three. The host reached their target in 21 overs for the loss of four wickets with Parmanand Dindyal scoring 25. Quacy Cummings snared 2-4.
At Fairfield, Lusignan East trashed Mahaica Cavaliers by 215 runs. Batting first Lusignan East racked up 250-6 from their reduced 25 overs. Hardeo Jailall slammed a magnificent unbeaten 104. M. Cummings took 3-45 runs from five overs. Mahaica Cavaliers were dismissed for 35 in eight overs. Sachin Sahadeo bagged 5-22.
The game between Enmore and Strathavon SC (A) was not played due to the absence of Umpires while Paradise SC forfeited their match against Beehive SC. The competition continues this weekend and will be played simultaneously with the Neville Ramotar Memorial T20 competition.
