Campbell Trust Nursery School at Grove East Bank Demerara, will be the next beneficiary of the International Children’s Outreach’s major project in Guyana.
This March, ICO will be bringing twenty-five volunteers from the United States to help give the community Nursery School a much needed facelift.
ICO’s founder, Onica Charles noted that the activity is scheduled to take place between March 10 -17, 2019.
“The group will be re-painting the entire school and installing fencing and renovating the playground area.
The group will also be working with the children at ICO community centre where they will be doing different activities such as art and craft, helping the children with their homework and facilitating educational workshops.”
According to Charles the B, R&T a local company, which is partly owned by Teressa Reid, will be donating some of the paint to help with the renovations.
Charles said they will welcome others who wish to supply materials or labor.

Charles noted that the trip will consist of 18 students from University of Central Florida, alternative breaks program and seven students from Florida International University.
Charles, a US- based Guyanese, established ICO, Inc., with the goal to “assist underprivileged children around the world.”
ICO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children facing poverty throughout the world, assisting with food supplies, healthcare, educational resources and health training seminars. ICO also conducts service learning projects, which take college students to third world countries to help those in need. Through the alternative breaks programme students learn about different cultures while they conduct community service projects.
Charles recently established their first community center in Guyana to provide a safe haven for children.
