Following the official launch of the Rupununi Football Association (RFA) Champions League on February 20, last at St Ignatius Benab, on field action is set to kick off tomorrow with a male and female match.

Defending male champions Tabatinga Football Club will tangle with Snatchers Football Club while female champions, Gladiators Football Club will oppose their counterparts from Snatchers FC in the supporting match from 18:00hrs at the Wadapna Centre Ground.
All the clubs contesting the Champions League have expressed gratitude to RFA President Ryan Farias and his executive for their continued hard work towards ensuring the game is played consistently in the association.
President Farias noted that the RFA provides a platform for both male and female players from across the Rupununi to showcase their skills and talents. The top team from the league will pocket $500,000 while $300,000 and $150,000 has been set aside for the respective second and third placed teams.
Trophies and other prizes will also be on offer for the Most Valuable Player and Best Goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, at the launch of the Champions League, President Farias expressed gratitude to all club members for their continued support throughout the year. The President outlined his vision for the development of the game in the Rupununi.
Also an Executive Member of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), President Farias extended greetings from the federation President, Wayne Forde and Executive whilst sharing its vision towards the development of football in Guyana.
And, Mr. Ken Grant handed over gear to the Referee while other clubs made short presentations.
