DEAR EDITOR,
The no-confidence motion is certainly a blessing in disguise. At no point in our history have we found government ministers and even the opposition parliamentarians so busy touching base with their constituents. The whole scenario resembles good old Santa Claus at Christmas time. Moreso, our Santas are doling out gifts right, left and centre particularly in areas that were forgotten since these Santas were afraid to wet their soles on these mud dams in the past.
They flew too fast and passed their nests after each national election but now ‘with a few feathers plucked from … (their) wings (we) make … (them) fly an ordinary pitch’. The old people say, it can be how carrion crow manoeuvre ‘deh dinna’ table is on de earth. At least we can say ‘dat dem santas own faat wake them up’. Therefore, they have to be busy with cleaning up their mess.
I agree with the GECOM Chairman on him being ‘no paladin’. He is indeed no paladin for elections dictated by Constitutional requirements today as he resides in a bygone era.
Sincerely yours
Ed Singh
