The Court of Appeal will, on March 22, commence hearing arguments from High Street, Georgetown businessman, Kevi
n Jordan, against his sodomy conviction.
On October 12, 2015, Jordan, 60, of Republic Park, East Bank Demerara, was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment for sodomizing a seven-year-old boy. The trial was conducted at the High Court in Georgetown.
The incident occurred on November 2, 2007. When the allegations surfaced that same year, the seven-year-old – who attended a primary school located a short distance from the businessman’s establishment ‘Jordan’s Spare Parts’ at High and Broad Streets, Georgetown – had complained of a pain in his buttocks.
The lad implicated Jordan who was eventually arrested and charged for the crime. Jordan had been tried before Justice Dawn Gregory.
