The Mashramani Costume and Float Parade in Region Five, Mahaica-Berbice displayed much more colour in the costumes worn by revellers than any other year to date.
The vibrantly colourful parade moved off from the Burma Road in sub-region one Mahaica-Abary from 13:00hrs on Saturday and wended its way to the popular Park Square resort in Mahaicony, just east of the Mahaicony River Bridge to the accompaniment of popular music dished out by party trucks.
Since the parade started from the Mahaica-Abary end this year, special transportation arrangements were provided for celebrants from the sub-region two Abary -Berbice.
Two 60-seater buses were deployed to Ithaca and Rosignol to collect revellers from the eastern end. The revellers and other participants were accommodated at the Park Square venue for a wash down session lasting until late this Saturday evening.
