I write in relation to a Television a programme with the Regional Chairman and Vice Chairperson of Region One being interviewed by a Mr. Ed Layne.
The two Regional officials are frustrated because they are not getting their way i.e. using Government resources to cover the PPP’s campaign. They should be ashamed to get on public media with those unfounded allegations about:
a) the removal of items from the Government quarters – those should never have been put there in the first place;
b) the removal of the Secretary to the REO – the REO has the prerogative of having someone he could trust with confidential matters. However, the two complainants cannot anymore see correspondence addressed to the REO before he does, so their cart has been tilted over;
c) the Vice Chairperson mentioned that the REO is racist and sexist. Seems she did not consult with a dictionary before she misused (especially) the word ‘sexist’. Or is it that they were told what to say? Maybe; there is an allegation making the rounds about some nefarious activities involving a senior official of the RDC, Region One and a young Amerindian GUY who was brought to Georgetown under the pretext that he would be taken for counseling. His mother is worried.
This allegation is more serious than the Regional Executive Officer changing a Confidential Secretary.
