The presidential candidate is the worst possible individual
Dear Editor,
I just found out that the PPP has identified its presidential candidate. The worse possible individual carries that mantle now.
How crass, vulgar and disgusting coming from the leadership of a party that has now lost its way.
Despite all that we recently learnt about the candidate and the incontrovertible evidence that came to light showing his fakery and debauchery, we are asked to support a flawed character encased in a cocoon of quackery. The mind is boggled by this demented decision.
I believe that this fiasco has its roots in two distinct possibilities: powerful forces that have tried to destroy the party from its inception have at this moment their well-entrenched Trojan horse at the helm of the leadership.
Alternatively, the candidate’s principal benefactor‘s scheming and intransigence in ensuring his way to being the de facto President. Here they are, two peas in a pod: one with his academic embellishment the other revelling in his ‘doctorate’. Pray, tell us Doc: what was the subject of your doctoral dissertation?
Must all be sacrificed to satisfy the ambitions of this puppet master and his nefarious puppet(candidate)? Who are the people behind them in the leadership of this pusillanimous, pathetic party? The sickos that supported this calumny with their odious rottenness have now sacrificed their people to advance the ignoble calling of avarice, thievery and cowardice.
The closest analogy I can think of in this ‘selection’ goes back to Caligula making his favourite horse a Consul of Rome. In this Guyanese farce, we can supplant the horse for another beast of burden.
The case of this puppet and puppeteer is no laughing matter as both are wealthy beyond understanding. Both are smallminded, humourless buffoons, drunk with their self-importance, legends in their own minds.
They always insinuate that the considerable progress made under the PPP from 1992 is somehow attributed to the senior aforementioned‘legend’; not the people of Guyana, not the PPP or the collective leadership of the party and certainly not the famous dentist.
This de facto president –in-waiting flushed with his ill- begotten wealth and with his principal residence seen as a monument to opulence, tried to insinuate that the MAN from Port Mourant ,lived splendidly like him. Furthermore, the father of the independence movement is always dismissed by this charlatan!
Hence, principled men like Ramotar and Anthony are anathema to him. The sorry lot of corrupt money obsessed sycophants, weaklings and spineless men of straw that saunter the halls of Freedom House can never match Ramotar for his decency and honesty and class. Not now, not ever, not in a thousand years.
Go figure Mr. President–in-waiting, how many house lots you hustled to ordinary poor people, usually supporters of the PPP? How many people have you robbed or taken advantage of as a little Caesar in your post of housing czar? How was your family connected to the illegal money transfers to you?
Now that the stakes are bigger, when you can have the whole country for sale, you must be salivating at the possibilities. What do you have to offer but a smorgasbord of chicanery, lies and betrayal?
Do not fool yourself. Your ascension was brokered in a tawdry backroom with promises to addled nincompoops who sold themselves in the vilest form of prostitution.
I have no intention of supporting this party any longer. If a party has made such a monumental error of judgment, how can it be expected to handle the affairs of state?
I feel that there is still time to stop this cabal that has hijacked the party. It is time for honest men and women to take a stand or be swept away by this flood of sewage gushing from Freedom (or Fiefdom) House.
I will not be a party to this nonsense. I will not vote! On Election Day I will reflect on the lives of young Jagan Ramessar and Bholanauth Parmanand who were murdered by the GDF in 1973.
I salute the 11 (perhaps the real team) who did not sanction this.
