The Guyana Police Force yesterday received a special donation of prized books from an internationally renowned Guyanese Security Expert.
Dr. Yeon Adams who served the Guyana Police Force from 1986 to 1988 with Regulation Number 13619, migrated to the United States of America and served for 19 years as an International Civil Servant across five United Nations departments, including the Department of Safety and Security (DSS) and Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO).
Commissioner Leslie James DSS, DSM expressed warm and welcoming words as he spoke of Dr. Adams whom he, as well as Deputy Commissioner M. Graham and Woman Superintendent A. Moore trained with.

The Top Cop expressed appreciation to Mr. Adams for his donation.
The books were taken from Mr. Adams’ personal library and span several genres encompassing but not limited to Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Policing and Research. Mr. Adams expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Force which served as an initial training ground, propelling him to reach higher heights even as he departed.
Dr. Adams holds a PhD in Public Safety Leadership, a Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Criminal Justice and Computer Information Systems among others; has written numerous research articles including his Dissertation: “ A Phenomenological Study of Caribbean Police Collaborative efforts”–Capella University, MN, USA and has made numerous presentations for institutions such as: the United Nations Enterprise Resource Programme (ERP) and the Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology, Milwaukee, Wisconsin to name a few.
The new books will be added to the Guyana Police Force’s library and will be available for use by members of the Force.
