CDC continues relief exercise for Venezuelan migrants
The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) is continuing to render assistance to Venezuelan migrants in Guyana’s border regions.

eral hygiene kits have also been delivered to Mabaruma for distribution as is deemed necessary.
A total of 151 food hampers were distributed to migrants in Kaikan, Cuyuni Mazaruni. These items were donated by the CDC and the Jesus Christ Church of Latter-Day Saints.
Between January 26 and 28, a total of 273 hygiene kits were distributed in Eteringbang.
According to CDC Director-General (ag), Lieutenant Colonel Kester Craig, supplies are being mobilised to be transported to Kamwatta and Smith Creek in Region One.
The National Multi Sectoral Coordinating Committee, through the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), has been providing relief to migrants in the border regions. Over the last few months, Guyana has seen an increase in the number of Venezuelans crossing the border into Guyana to escape the political and socio-economic crisis in their homeland. (DPI)
