Dear Editor,
It has nothing to do with being cajoled into making that yes vote, in favour of the no-confidence vote, it has to do with his conscience which is now crystal clear after having said yes maybe for about the seventh time.
Mr C. Persaud could not stifle that compelling inner voice of his which told him to say yes out loud for the world to hear. But let me tell you something of even deeper and greater importance, Mr Charrandass is a Berbician, and we take the interest of our own seriously, very seriously.
Central to our existence here in Berbice is the wellbeing of our fellow brothers and sisters: Red, Yellow, Black, White, Indian or Amerindian. A Berbician is a Berbician; we do not see race, we do not see the colour of one’s skin or the texture of one’s hair.
We are all “One Berbician.” We cannot help it; that’s the way we think that’s the way we are.
That is why it boggles my mind why Mr Nagamootoo and Mr Ramjattan are still wallowing in the quagmire of an APNU Camp? They are supposed to be AFC but sadly they are all “yes men” in a Corrupt PNC Controlled Cabal and Berbicians are not like that?
Berbicians are men of integrity, men of guts and men with “testicular fortitude.” Berbician men do not flinch even in the face of death or imminent danger. That is who Mr Charrandass is, a Berbician to the bone. He is our Guyanese reincarnation of a Cheddi Jagan and a Mahatma Gandhi, standing up for what is right no matter what!
Like myself, Mr Charrandass is a real Berbician and to have seen the suffering, the hurt the degradation of his people, it would have churned his innards. He had to make that altogether major decision to vote against This Coalition Government of spite.
He would have said how could he live with that low seared conscience for the rest of his life. He had to make a stand and do so right now!
He would have reasoned within himself, how can I live with myself seeing the suffering of my people all around me and be at peace with myself? So, as Berbicians we commend our hearts to this great man and stand in full solidarity with our brother.
To Mr Nagamootoo and Ramjattan, it is high time to wake up and embrace the dictates of your conscience. The time to make that decision is still there, please do so now! As Berbicians your consciences are pricking you, so please come out stand up and be counted like Mr Charrandass. We are waiting on you!
Respectfully Submitted
Neil Adams
