Dec 23, 2018 Letters
I thank you, Editor, for having printed my letter titled, “Is my government reading the political signals correctly?” in your newspaper on Sunday, November 25 and Monday, November 26.
I was not extremely surprised about the result of the No Confidence Vote in our Parliament yesterday. I did indicate the nonchalance of my government in reading the signs correctly.
I will continue to hold the feet of my Government to the fire. Being dismayed is the normal reaction of my people, but, notwithstanding, the information released by Mr. Rickford Burke, another concerned Guyanese, who had expressed that he had forewarned four Ministers of the Government about the intended move by the PPP.As usual, apparently nothing was done.
As I sit here, I’m wondering the thoughts of many of the Ministers, advisor, et al. A mandate of ninety days is one of serious consequence to the Government . As I said before, “Emperor Nero fiddled while Rome was burning.”
The die has been cast and I remember my father today. He said, “If lil boy say he gon pelt you, he dun got the brick in he hand already.”
Yours respectfully
Orin Major
