When play in the Atkinson Brothers 8th Annual Floodlight Football Competition continued at the Kumaka Recreation Ground, Moruca on Friday night last, there were wins for Rising Sun, Mora, Jungle Boys, Sea Hawks and Rincon United.
Competing in the lone Under-15 match of the night, Raising Son got past Mighty Warriors 3-1 on account of goals from Daniel Atkinson in the 2nd minute, Travis Narine in the 5th and Orlando Narine in the 23rd minute. Mighty Warriors got their consolation goal from Dean Domingo.
Mora prevailed over Mighty Warriors 3-2 in a penalty shootout, while the other Under-17 match was decided via a similar route, this time, Jungle Boys won 2-1 over Future Stars following a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.
Dario Jones had given Jungle Boys the lead in the 5th minute but that was cancelled out when Keton La Rose volleyed past Jungle Boys’ custodian three minutes later.
In senior play, Saw Hawks United defeated Kamwatta 2-0 thanks to goals from Terence Chappelle in the 6th and Hyde Williams, three minutes later. And Rincon United needled Legal FC through a Ronald Henry 8th minute goal. The lone female match that was scheduled was cancelled.
