A total of six matches were contested on the opening night of the Atkinson Brothers Eight Annual Floodlight Football Competition at the Kumaka Recreation Ground, Moruca.
Competition was had in the Under-15, 17, senior female and male categories. In the Under-15 game, Atkinson Brothers Football Club got the better of Golden Eagles, while in the Under-17 clash; West Rockers defeated Rincon United 5-0.
In female play, Silver Sands took care of business against Golden Eagles, while Atkinson Brothers FC drew 2-2 with Kairie Flames.
In senior competition, West Rockers doused the flames of Kairie Flames 3-1, while Young Guns fired their way to an exciting 3-2 triumph over Silver Sands.
Meanwhile, Troy Abraham handed over the male winner’s trophy to the Chairperson of Atkinson Brothers FC, Ms. Ingrid Chappelle on the opening night of the competition.
And the organsiers are expressing thanks to the following sponsors for their contributions towards the hosting of this year’s competition which is expected to conclude on Boxing Night.
