Tomorrow’s third and final round of the KFC Goodwill Cup, featuring three teams from Guyana in Annai Secondary, Christianburg/Wismar Secondary School (CWSS) and Annandale Secondary along with Trinidad and Tobago’s Shiva’s Boys’ Hindu College, is set for an intense finish at the Ministry of Education (MoE) ground with Annai having a faint chance of beating Shiva’s to the top spot.
The Guyoil/Tradewind Tankers league champions, Annandale, that have lost both their opening games to CWSS and Shiva’s respectively, and CWSS that earned an extra-time victory worth two-points rather than a normal time win of three against Annandale before losing 3-0 to Annai, are both certain of not lifting the winning trophy.
Annai Secondary has three points for while Shiva Boys’ have a perfect record of six points. The 2016 T&T School League champions seem destined to win the title but a defeat to Linden’s CWSS and a win by two goals or more by South Rupununi’s, Annai over Annandale can see the region 9 School ascend into the top spot and lift the KFC Goodwill Cup.
But if Annai don’t defeat the East Coast boys in the first match at 17:00hrs, the feature match that kicks off at 19:00hrs will be a matter of Shiva’s boys’ trying to remain unbeaten in the tournament with victory already secured.
