The Trophy Stall Port Mourant, Berbice sponsored Upper Corentyne Cricket Association Under19 50-overs round robin tournament continued last Saturday with round 2 of the competition. Scottsburg United, No.73 Young Warriors and No. 72 Cut & Load secured wins.
At No.73 ground: No.73 Young Warriors defeated Radha Krishna Foundation Academy by 8 wickets. Batting first Radha Krishna Foundation Academy were bowled out for 106 runs in 19.1 overs. I. Singh scored 38 and V .Kumar 13 were the top scorers. Bowling for No. 73 Young Warriors, Sarwan Chaitnarine took 4 for 38, Trevon Sukhu 2 for 28 and Raul Jabbar 2 for 12. In reply No. 73 Young Warriors got the runs with ease loosing 2 wickets in the process. Trevon Sukhu 52 not out and Vettorie Latchman 38 did most of the work with the bat.
At No. 66 ground: Scottsburg United defeated No. 66 Cricket Club by 25 runs. Batting first Scottsburg United were bowled out for 98 runs in 22.3 overs. Rudy Jamalodeen 29 and Hardar Budram 16 were the top scorers. Bowling for No. 66, Jaison Boodhan took 2 for 23. In reply No. 66 were bowled out for 55 runs in 18.1 overs. Karan Persaud 23, Charran Singh 16 and Jaison Boodhan 14 showed some resistance. Bowling for Scottsburg United Rudy Jamalodeen took 4 for 19, Stephon Norah 3 for 31 and Akhtar Nahar 2 for 2.
At No.72 ground, No. 72 Cut and Load won by virtue of walk over. Only 5 players turned up for No.48 Cricket Club.
The competition continues today with fixtures as follows: No.72 Cut and Load vs. Scottsburg United, No. 66 Cricket Club vs. Radha Krishna Foundation Academy, No. 48 Cricket Club vs. No. 73 Young Warriors (Teams name first are host).
This tournament is Organised by the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association and is sponsored by Mr. Ramesh Sunich, Managing Director of Trophy Stall with its new Location at Market Road, Port Mourant, Corentyne, Berbice which will open its doors for business in January, 2019.
