As part of their corporate responsibility, Metro Office and Computer Supplies has thrown their support behind the Kennard Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) for the staging of their Boxing Day horserace meet which is schedule for Bush Lot, Corentyne.
The entity presented $1million and the winning trophy for the feature E and Lower race which will cover a distance of seven furlongs, to President of the KMTC Cecil Kennard, during a simple ceremony held yesterday at the company’s Quamina Street location. This event is expected to feature most of the country’s top horses.
The company’s Admin Assistant, Shivanie Sooklall, said they are delighted to sponsor the top prizes of the event and wished the competitors well.
Former Justice, Kennard stated that the entity has been onboard with the Boxing Day meet for over two decades and expressed gratitude to the company for their backing. Kennard informed that the track is in excellent shape for a successful day of horseracing.

Other races billed for the day are, the H1 and Lower race, along with the Three-year-old and over races which will see the winners taking home $250,000 and $240,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, the Two-year-old Guyana-bred (Maiden) which will be contested over a distance of five furlongs will see the winner galloping away with $200,000; the L-Open $140,000, L-Non winners: $120,000 and L-non earners $100,000.
The races will be run under the regulations of the Guyana Horse Racing Authority and entries will be closed tomorrow.
