Dec 13, 2018 Letters
I am not pruned to writing letters to the newspaper, but I have to on a missive, whose pontifications are by the Professor of all crafts, Christopher Ram.
I often wonder, why this man thinks that he is the authority on every conceivable subject matter in Guyana.
Kaieteur Newspaper article of December 9, 2018, titled ‘SARA breaches law, fails to have annual plan, Code of Practice tabled – Ram & McRae says Agency should be scrapped altogether.’
Firstly for your information, Mr. Expert Christopher Ram these reports are not due until year end and even if that Agency failed to submit its annual Plan and code of practice, should SARA be scrapped? Why is he taking this position? It leaves the reader to wonder if this goodly gentleman has something to hide or is it that SARA is going after his assets or those of his clients.
How can one speak against corruption, but then suggest an agency whose objective is to fight corruption be scrapped?
This gentleman is allowed to write as an authority on these subjects without being challenged and Guyanese sit and consume his almost daily diatribe. Of importance, is that although he has challenged the legality of the institution, a matter that is sub judice, he continues to pass judgment on the body.
I dare say that Ram’s personal pieces are not facts. This man masquerades as a social activist, but this is shrouded in deep mysteries. His main purpose is to hoodwink the nation, thereby keeping the focus off of himself.
He engages in subjects that will rally people’s anger and in so doing achieves his daily goal of mastering confusion. He bemoans the virtue of integrity and honesty and it is this erudite gentleman who sold a prime real estate to a known drug dealer.
One writer told Ram, “The lowest forms of information/data quality are rumours , groups and personal opinions.” Quality writing uses inference and facts, the highest form of information/data quality.”
It is on the platform that we should be very careful of some of the so called activists who cause us to think they are so clean, yet skeletons are hidden in their closets. Let us work to build this nation and not be divisive. We have before us a generation of young people let us inspire them, let us motivate them.
