Dear Editor,
The year 2019 is approaching and it is right that Guyana take a serious look at sugar-sweetened beverages from school environments that will reduce non-communicable diseases such as diabetes.
I support a less sugar import beverages coming into the country and also local manufacture products.
Our Education, Health and Agriculture Ministries must play their part in School- feeding programme, with Agriculture as a priority in local farmers fruits and vegetables for making different juices.
As customary, whatever is new the reduced sugar-sweetened beverages would not go down well by all but in the future it will be beneficial for healthy living.
Respectfully,
Parmanand Ram
