Christianburg’s Eagles United yesterday were officially named as official champions of the GTT Senior League in Linden and this afternoon the Upper Demerara Football Association (UDFA) will make the draw for the fixtures of its annual GT Beer Christmas tournament which is set for a start next Sunday at the Mackenzie Sports Club ground.
After some uncertainty the UDFA on review of its initial decision, came out with the announcement that the Eagles United had a better goal difference 16 to Net Rockers 15 and are the winners following their 1-1 stalemate after both sides were unbeaten in their previous seven matches which they won.
That draw meant Eagles United and Net Rockers were on 22 points with unblemished records but had to have a tie breaker and the goal difference ruled in Eagles United’s favour.
With that past the meeting this afternoon will seek for clubs to register for the tournament with the luxury of having three guest players.
The rules for the tournament and the drawing of the fixtures will be drawn also from 14.00 hrs at the Linden Enterprise Network building.
