Isn’t She Charming of the Cheefoon Stable ridden by the wily Veteran Jockey, Yap “Old Boy” Drepaul, on Sunday won the feature event at the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club one day horserace Meet.
It was all at its mercy and Isn’t She Charming by name and nature proved that it was better than the rest of the filed as it ran away from the opposition to take the feature Alness Classic race for Horses classified H and lower. The win for the 1400M event was worth $500,000 and trophy, Not This Time and Mary Ann occupied the other spots.
The race for two years old horses saw nine runners entering the starting gate with Ebony Prince from the R. Mitchell stable getting the better of Awesome Banner with Humming Bird flying in second ahead of Handsome Drift.
Byron from the C. Collins stable with Ajai in the saddle was in good form as it won the J3 and Lower event from Red Region.
There was nothing sinister in the event for animals classified L 3yrs and up for fillies and mares with Delilah of the Nowrang stable coming good to win from Call She Royal and Physical Disturbance.
The other L class 3years and up event this time for Colts and Gelding saw Massapequa Dr of the Crawford stable having things its way to win from Touch Down.
The L class non winners event was won by Osona from the Cheefoon racing stable with Rosie placing second ahead of Stolen Diamond and Quarter Pharaoh.
Over 60 horses were listed to participate in the day’s event which was run under damp conditions.
