All roads lead to the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club arena at Alness, Corentyne Berbice when the Club sages it annual one day horserace meet at the club’s track at Alness, Corentyne, Berbice.
The seven race meet has seen over 60 horses entered to compete with close to 3M in cash, trophies and other incentives at stake and an exciting day of racing is anticipated.
The feature event dubbed the Alness Classic has a top notch field entered to participate. Among those lining up are Isn’t She Charming, Not This Time, Mary Ann, Kentucky Woman, Party Time, Miss Olympic and Chameylee in the 1400M event for the winning purse of $500,000 and trophy.
The other events listed for the day are the – I and lower 1200M race for a first prize of $240,000 and trophy.
There is the event for 2 Years Old animals which carries a winning prize of $200,000 and trophy over 1200M.
There is an event for horses classified J3 and lower over 1000M for the take home package of $170,000 and trophy.
The race for animals classified L and 3 years and up for fillies and mares over 1400M for a winner’s take of $100,000 and trophy.
A race for animals classified L and 3 years and up for colts and geldings also over 1400M for a first prize of $100,000 and trophy.
The other event is for L class animals that have not earned any money since racing over a distance of 1000M the winner will get $50,000 and trophy.
A number of sponsors are on board including Banks DIH Limited, Nand Persaud and Company Limited and Metro Computer and Office Supplies.
Race time is 12:00hrs.
