The poultry farmer whose car was searched at the Moleson Creek Ferry Stelling with 5.63 kilograms of cocaine concealed in packets in the back seat of
his car, was yesterday remanded to prison after appearing at the Springlands Magistrate Court before Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh.
It is alleged that on November 15, 2018, Trevor Loo, 50, of Smythfield, New Amsterdam had in his possession the prohibited substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was unrepresented in court and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
However, Attorney-at-law Mursalene Bacchus who made an appearance requested Friday November 23, to do a bail review and have his name placed on record. Loo was subsequently remanded.
The farmer was on the 15th November around 9:00 am busted at the Moleson Creek Ferry Stelling with a quantity of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. Loo was attempting to board the ferry with his vehicle PJJ 5889 when police intercepted him based on information they received.
A search was subsequently conducted on the farmers’ vehicle which was Suriname-bound and several concealed
packets of cocaine weighing in excess of 5.63 kilograms were discovered. He was immediately taken into custody and his car and the cocaine were lodged.
