Kwakwani residents hold a vigil for murdered midwife
Over 100 residents of Kwakwani on Sunday last, held a vigil for the murdered midwife Paulette Wade.

The vigil saw persons walking, singing and praying as they passed by the home of the deceased, the police station, where they spent about 10 to 15 minutes, and then concluded at the Kwakwani basketball court. Participants held placards which read ‘It could have been my mom’ and ‘Protect our mothers’.
At the basketball court more singing and praying took place. The family received further encouragement from residents as they all pressed for justice in the matter.
It is of high concern to the family that they are yet to receive further information from the police about the investigation and they believe that the police are dragging their foot on the matter.
Paulette Wade, who worked at the Kwakwani Hospital, was found dead in her Kwakwani Park, Region Ten home, around 06:30 hrs by her seven-year-old daughter on October 27, last. The post mortem report conducted on the body indicated that she died from strangulation and traumas to the head.
Although five men were held for the murder they were all released as there was not enough evidence to tie any of them to the case.
