Quarter final play in the second annual Turbo knockout football tournament will commence tonight from 18:30hrs at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on Carifesta Avenue following the conclusion of the round-of-16 on Wednesday last.
In the first match, Riddim Squad will match skills with Northern Rangers while Santos FC will play Police FC in the feature match. Riddim Squad will be banking heavily on their opening match’s hat-trick hero, Travis Agard, to continue his good goal scoring form while Rangers will hope the form of Steven Sankar and Adolf George continue as well.
The inform men for Police FC are Anthio Wallace and Manasseh Primo while Samuel Dey and Ronaldo Dover are the danger men for Santos. On Wednesday, defending champions of the tournament which is organised by the Petra Organisation, Camptown Football Club needled Grove Hi Tech in a very closely contested clash.
In the feature of two matches of the night, Jermain Beckles’s second half strike (76th minute)was the deciding blow in the match between the seemingly evenly matched sides that both produced many dangerous attacking plays into each other’s final third.

Meanwhile, in the opening match, city side Georgetown Football Club (GFC) got the better of West Bank Demerara’s Pouderoyen that had finished as runners-up in the Limacol tournament, with an imposing 3-0 victory.
LaVaughn Enniss netted a brace for the victors after recording successful strikes in the 50th and 59th minute after his teammate Alberto Basanto had opened the scoring in the 47th minute, GFC completely dominating the second period of play.
A total of $1.5 million in cash prizes is up for grabs in this tournament with the winners pocketing $800,000, second place $400,000, third $200,000 and fourth $100,000.
