On Sunday last, Head of the IKD 9th Dan Shuseki Shihan Frank Woon-a-Tai, 8th Dan Shihan Maureen Woon-a-Tai (IKD Vice-Chief Instructor) and 8th Dan Shihan Bernice Hughes, assisted by Amir Khouri 7th Dan, Tej Ramharichand 6th Dan and Roger Peroune 4th Dan, conducted a high level three-prong Karate examination at the YMCA Thomas Lands.
The day started with ASK-G students and parents anxiously awaiting their performances at the examinations following exams for the White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple, 3rd and 2nd KYU Brown belt students.
There was lots of anxiety and anticipation ahead of the battle between the two youngest females and boys followed by two teenagers who showcased their abilities they were all well received.
Subsequent to this, the action heated up in the battle for 3rd Dan Miller and Francis when they squared off. It was a fierce exchange of fists and feet from both parties who were equally competent.
Things got more intense when Francis had to face off against Miller and two other opponents at the same time then Miller had to do the same with Francis and the other two opponents which brought with it non-stop action as well as some humor that had the audience impressed with their performances.
