Given his exceptional contribution to the field of journalism, communications and beyond, Kaieteur News founder and Publisher, Glenn Lall, was last evening conferred with an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy and Humane Letters.
The Honorary PhD was conferred on the Publisher by Pro-Chancellor of the Canadian International Chaplaincy Association (CICA) Dr. Devon Bannister.
Dr. Bannister noted that the United Nations accredited body has selected to confer honor on Lall not only for his influence and contribution to the field of communications, but for his work in the area of business and philanthropy.
Lall’s philanthropic ventures span beyond Kaieteur News, Guyana and the Diaspora touching countless people whose lives were affected by natural and other disasters in places like India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Haiti.
“Given our International status and association with the UN, we have been, as part of our mandate, honouring noteworthy men and women inside and outside the church.
“As such, we have chosen to honour and confer this special degree upon Mr. Glenn Lall. His work has earned him this award.”
Dr. Bannister’s comments were made to the gathering of witnesses at Special Miracles Ministries Royalty Centre Church in East La Penitence, Georgetown, last evening.
The Kaieteur News Publisher was among six persons to be bestowed with accreditation from the International University during a ceremony.
In addition to Lall, CICA’s representatives, Archbishop Wingrove Babb, was conferred with his Doctorate Degree in Ministry, and Minister Kester Deane received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity.
In addition, Bishop Terrence Esseboom received an Honorary of Doctorate; Teacher and musician Olsen Andrae Munroe was conferred with Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy and Humane Letters and singer and musician, Bryan Vale, was conferred with International chaplaincy license from CICA International University.
The University is said to be the only religious body to have status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, (ECOSOC), the highest level of accreditation that is awarded internationally to all designates.
In this capacity, its parent body of CICA, Word of Life Ministries International, (WOLMI) is able to appoint and accredit seventeen ambassadorial representatives annually to offices of the United Nations worldwide and numerous ambassadors-at-large.
Through established links with governmental bodies and other international organizations, WOLMI is on a path to assist the UN in executing its mandate of maintaining world peace, promoting education and fighting poverty.
The Church body is headed by Dr. Phillip Phinn, current Chief Executive Officer and Chief UN Ambassador of the WOLMI.
Dr. Phinn is also Vice-President of the International Third World Leaders Association, in charge of UN and Diplomatic Affairs.
He is also General Overseer of the Word of Life Churches and Affiliate Ministries, presiding Bishop of No Limit Ministries in Brampton, Ontario, Canada; Executive Trustee for the International Third World Leaders Association based in Nassau, Bahamas; Chairman-Founder and Chaplain General of the Canadian International Chaplaincy Association and Chancellor of CICA-International University and Seminary.
He serves as Director and Advisor to several organizations around the world.
