Josephine Alexandra Marcano Gil, who was thought to be a victim of trafficking from Venezuela to Guyana has resurfaced in Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela.
Speaking to Venezuelan Press and The Representatives of the Guyanese Community of Venezuela (RCGV), Marcano denies that she was missing and that she was involved in an illegal trafficking ring believed to be orchestrated by Guyanese.
Marcano had been the subject of immense controversy when her grandmother Zulma del Carmen Almeida, reported that she travelled to Guyana and failed to make contact. Local Authorities in Ciudad Guayana had suspected that she was missing and was trafficked with other missing women, by Guyanese nationals to Guyana.
Venezuelan Police are currently investigating the matter.
