All over de place is scampishness. People does look like dem doing one thing and de next thing you know is dem cutting deals and getting legal people to do illegal things. Dat is something dat was happening for more than twenty-five years.
It start when people get permission to bring in cars and things like dat. Some of dem would buy a good car, tek a hammer and beat in couple doors and de fender suh de car look old, then ship it. One man buy a car, tek out de engine and put it in de trunk and ship de car as junk.
Dem boys know dat de duty was small under dem conditions. Nuff people prosper, including de people who do de inspection and pass verdict pon de car. Dem was de time when people use to share de wealth.
Dem boys find out dat de thing get worse. It more rampant. From de time when de crookishness use to be at Customs and de Ministry at Works and places like dat, it now stretch to de Ministry of Amerindian Affairs. Corruption is not discrimination.
De Additer General find out dat de Ministry had some vehicles fuh sale. People tek out engine from a pick-up and claim it unserviceable. Dem boys seh things didn’t get better when dem put up de vehicles to bids.
Dat is suppose to be a fair system until dem boys see some people who dem know is scamps. Four of dem would bid pon one vehicle, but dem is friends and dem keeping out everybody else. Dem gon bid and push up de price till everybody drop out. Dat is when de high bid person gon drop out; de second bid person gon refuse to buy and de person at de bottom gon get de thing cheap because de car must be some to de next highest bidder.
De Amerindian Affairs Ministry tek de thing a step further. Dem sell a car to a man who didn’t even bid. Dem even sell another thing fuh less when a man at de top bid twice as much.
Nobody ain’t get jail. Dat is why dem boys want SOCU to investigate dem bidding process. Dem might find nuff things to shock dem. Dem might even find workers putting people to bid fuh dem.
Talk half and watch out fuh de scamps.
