After overnight and early morning rain, yesterday afternoon was bright and sunny as action in New Building Society (NBS) 40-over Second Division continued with wins for MYO at the MYO ground and TSC at DCC.
At MYO, Chien Gittens’ 117 from 68 balls with 14 fours and five sixes powered MYO to 330 from their 40 overs. He shared in a 220-run third wicket stand with Khemraj Ramdeen who made 85 with from 62 balls with 11 fours.
The pair joined forces with MYO on 43-2 when Abdool Kumar (18) was removed by Riyad Sattaur and with an array of scintillating shots on the small ground, took the score to 263-3 when Dwayne Adam trapped Ramdeen LBW.
Sarfraz Esau (47) and Anthony King (20) chipped in before Adams got rid of Gittens to finish with 2-40.
Sattuar (2-65) and Travis Mohamed (2-63) were also among the wickets in expensive spells for Everest who were restricted to 149-9 after recovering from 14-4 with Gittens and Timour Ayume removing the first four batsmen.
Richie Looknauth, who hit eight fours in 60 and Matthew Nandu with 38, revived the position, while Dinesh Mangal (22) also offered fight towards the end in a losing cause.
Gittens, Travis Mohamed, King and Parmanand Pasram picked up two wickets for MYO.

After 21-year-old pacer Akeem Redman captured three wickets in four balls, the on-fire Peters dominated a 51 partnership with Miguel Vaughn (6) before Vaughn was taken at mid-off as the expensive Redman stuck again at 60-4.
Peters hit Redman for two sixes and flicked him for four before stroking the lively Duncan Charles for another boundary before he was LBW to Keon Morris.
Zalim Rasheed hit two fours and a six in a cameo 22 and Anand Persaud (19) also reached double figures as Azeez polished off the tail to finish with 4-3 from 1.2 overs.
Redman, who bowled a wide on his hat-trick ball, had 4-47 while Morris took 2-22.
TSC started their chase with all guns blazing and raced to 62 in five overs before Devon Nandan, who took 22 from Malcolm Morris’ second over, was trapped LBW for 32 with four sixes and a four at 62-1 as the Morris had the only wicket to fall.
Azeez joined the left-handed Adrian Hinds, twice caught off ‘Free Hits’ to take TSC to an emphatic nine-wicket with 23.4 overs to spare.
