The GUYOIL Tradewind Tankers School Football League continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground with five scheduled matches which saw wins for Lodge and Vergenoegen, while there was a walkover victory for Uitvlugt against Charlestown and Bishop’s High held Christianburg/Wismar Secondary to a goalless stalemate.
Ronaldo Macey netted a hat-trick for the West Coast Demerara based Vergenoegen during their 6-0 rout of St. Rose’s. His goals came in the fifth, 42nd and 44th minutes. In the big win, Troy Skeete netted a brace in the 33rd and 49th minutes while Brentnol Bobb added the sixth goal with his solitary successful strike.
Meanwhile, Queen’s College was outdone by Lodge that was led by one goal each from Rickie Stuart in the 41st minute and Dorwin George in the 47th minute.
Lodge Secondary are now top of the league points’ standing after winning all four of their games, accumulating 12 points, surpassing CWSS (10 points) that were held by Bishops’ yesterday.
