Following the conclusion of the GFSCA Guyana Cup 8 on Sunday night at DCC, Regal All stars team would like to clear the air on their exit from the tournament.
A Release from Regal All stars stated that during their semi final against Speedboat, a decision made by the bowler’s end umpire who ruled that Regal All stars batsman Sachin Singh was not out after an appeal for bowled was made by Speedboat players.
“Subsequently there was an involvement with both Speedboat and Regal All stars players and fans on the field of play. The striker’s end umpire then consulted with his colleague who then changed his decision thus giving the batsman out.
Following that the lights went out and shortly after an announcement was made on the PA system that Regal All stars refused to continue the game. Such was not true as there was no consultation with the umpires and Regal All stars Captain or batsmen. At that time Regal All stars needed 51 from 5.2 overs with four wickets in hand. Players and fans must show respect for the game.”
