Set Them Free.
As they had begun to bloom, crumbled between jealous palm’s
They all waved and said goodbye as the aircraft ascended into the skies
Friends and relatives, they were all there, hoping that they would achieve what they were going for and come back soon to stay
But they fell as petals, into an unknown, watery home, like thunderbolts descending from the skies
And all that echoes were there cries
Set them free, please set them free, for what have they done thee?
God created them capable of exercising freedom and had wanted them to exercise it to the fullest
So by the primrose stars on the shadowy grass
Let Guyanese be free to achieve and pass.
Devised By: JC Grant-Stuart. Snr. (October 1976).
Dedicated in Memory to the eleven Guyanese that perished In the Cubana Air Disaster. October 06, 1976.
