Organisers of the Annual Berbice Exposition and Trade Fair, the Central Corentyne Chamber of Commerce(CCCC), promises to make this year’s event bigger and better than before. This is according to President and Coordinator Mr. Poonai Bhigroog.
The exposition is slated to be held from Friday, October 5 to October 8 at the Albion Community Centre from 15:00 hrs to 23:00 hrs.
According to Bhigroog, preparations are going at a satisfactorily pace and they are leaving no stones unturned to make this event the showpiece trade activity in the country this year. The event, which is in its 14th year will be a held under theme, “Advancing Economic Progress through Professional Standards and Entrepreneurship.”
Bhigroog stated that the theme this year was strategically chosen, taking a few things into consideration.
The opening ceremony will be held on Friday at 17:00 hrs. It is expected to feature an opening address by President his Excellency David Granger.
The Chamber president said that the Chamber will try to use the opportunity to help return Berbice to what it was before. The activity this year is being held in collaboration with the Government of Guyana through the Ministries of Business.
The expo is being held to give producers in Berbice and Berbice-based businesses the opportunity to help showcase themselves. It also helps the businesses to get the opportunity to create links and partners with other business outside of the region.
According to Bhigroog , there are hardly any spaces left. Some 120 exhibitors have already booked for the show piece event and many more are coming on board. Apart from the regular bevy of Guyanese companies that are expected to be in attendance displaying products of all sorts, some new ones are expected on board while others are returning.
Most of the companies plan to have big giveaways at the event.
