Why is there no (easily accessible) Events calendar for the indigenous heritage month on your website???
I have wasted several precious hours, browsing, trying to find the calendar of events and its schedules. Nothing! Why?? You spend so much time planning this stuff, yet it seems to have eluded the best of you to include a simple utility that would allow interested members of the public to plan and attend the activities. I would like to think that it is your intention to have public attendance, so why is this missing?
This occurrence is so backward, frustrating and annoying. I have had to pour over dozens of newspaper articles that are bent on Govt. officials being flattered or flattering themselves. Today is the 22nd day, so I can’t even use the excuse that you are working on the posting of the event.
MoIPA website does have a non functioning “Events” titled tab. That’s the same as nothing. Did you know that they don’t even have a “Useful Link” to the “Guyana Tourism Authority” I suppose they think that is useless too, maybe rightly so. The GTA site had nothing of use in that regard, either.
I really had a primary desire to attend specific sports events of the programme and could not easily get the info to do that. All 4 of our primary newspapers have the same atrocious habit of never listing a calendar/schedule of sports events for the week/weekend, that would probably take only 6 column inches of their precious printing space. However, they do that easily for foreign international events and do pride themselves in dedicating as much as two pages on where to party and what to wear.
I hear the exclamation frequently- “Why are the youths nowadays not interested in going to/ doing outdoor activities?!”…..well, should we really be wondering why?
I urge you all- to please improve on this basic utility of communication and make it easily available somewhere and everywhere.
My best regards,
Earl Gomes
