Enmore, Enterprise and Lusignan recorded victories when the East Coast Cricket Committee (ECCC) / Bargain Supermarket T20 tournament commenced on Sunday last. Host Enmore defeated Golden Grove by 119 runs.
Enmore won the toss and elected to bat scoring 163-9. Brian Sattaur top scored with 48 while Amir Khan and Chris Surat contributed 37 and 27 respectively. O. Gardener and Richie Woolford grabbed two wickets each.
In reply, Golden Grove were bowled out for 44. Amir Khan grabbed 4-12 and Rudolph Singh 2-6. Enterprise overcame Better Hope ‘B’ by six wickets at Enterprise. Better Hope batted first and were bowled out for 56 with R. Singh and Clive Rampersaud scoring 15 each; Kamesh Yadram captured 4-10 and Pradesh Balkishun 2-7. In reply Enterprise reached 57-4. Kamesh Yadram scored 16.
At Lusignan, the home team got past Paradise by 19 runs. Lusignan won the toss and elected to bat first posting 112-9 after the game was reduced to 16 overs due to rain. Kumar Bishundyal made 27 and Tameshwar Motiram 24.
Jermaine Martin grabbed 3-21 while W. Ramsammy took 2-16. Paradise were limited to 93-8 from 16 overs in reply. Q. Douglas got 24; Jason Heyliger took 3-28 and Kumar Bishundyal took 2-14.
At Ogle, Lusignan ‘B’ got the better of the host by 10 runs. Lusignan ‘B’ managed 117-9, taking first strike. Marvin Persaud scored 28 and Azad Mohamed 24; Andrew Samaroo and Andrew Gomes grabbed two wickets each.
In reply, Ogle were limited to 107-8, Samaroo struck 31 and A. Sinclair 21; Navin Persaud and Imran Khan took two wickets each. The competition continues on Sunday at Lusignan Community Center ground when Lusignan ‘A’ will face Enterprise ‘A’ and Lusignan ‘B’ will take on Enmore. Better Hope will tackle host Strathavon at 13:00hrs.
