Golden Fleece, GR XI, Annandale and Crown XI registered victories when the Adventure Sports Club 10/10 softball tournament continued recently at Golden Fleece beach on the Essequibo Coast.
Golden Fleece trashed Reliance by nine wickets. Reliance batted first and were bowled out for 65 with only G. Fraser making 16; Vishal Rampersaud claimed 3-8, while Rohan Parbattie picked up 3-17. In reply Golden Fleece Sports Club made 66 for 1 in five overs. Vishal Rampersaud smashed a seven-ball 35 with three fours and a similar number of sixes, while Patrick Rooplall made 28 not out.
RG XI trashed Reliance by 88 runs. RG XI batted first and made 180 for 7. Ameer Mohammed stroked two fours and 11 sixes in a scoring 77, while Amzad Callender made 39 with three fours and three sixes and Dovendra Mohan 36 including three sixes; R. Lall and J. Shivbamber took two wickets each. In reply, Reliance were bowled out for 92 in nine overs. G. Fraser made 35 as R. Baljodah, A. Callender and D. Mohan had one wicket each.
Annandale A beat Crown XI by three wickets. Crown XI batted first and made 110-4. Munir Amin and Besham Dasrat got 36 and 34 respectively as Calvin Walcott and Aaron Tribuwan captured two wickets each. Annandale responded with 111-8 in 9.4 overs. Tribuwan made 33 and got support from Andy Pierce with 32; M. Amin, R. Ragubaar, M. Gobin and L. Ramdass took two wickets apiece.
Crown XI overcame Annandale B by 60 runs. Crown XI scored 127 for 9, batting first. Besham Dasrat got 35 as Avo Kumar picked up two wickets. Annandale were bowled out for 68 in reply. Kumar got 23; L. Ramdass took two wickets. The competition will culminate on September 2 at the said venue.
