Guyana Under-15 Player Jonathan Rampersaud played one of the best innings ever in youth cricket in the Ancient County of Berbice but still ended up on the runner up side. Albion Community Centre Cricket Club (ACCCC) defeated pre-favourite Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes by just six runs in a dramatic final which was described as one of the finest hosted by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) over the last three decades.
Albion won the toss and as expected batted first on their home pitch. Openers Hemendra Gurdyal and Tameshwar Mangal added 37 for the first wicket before Mangal was run out for 13 in the 3rd over.
The inform Leon Cecil was then dismissed for 13 with three successive boundaries. Albion eventually ended on 167 for 6 from their allotted 50-overs. Gurdyal top scored with 40 with support from Tameshwar Mahadeo (17) and Damien Cecil 28.
Extras contributed a healthy 38 runs as the Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes bowlers had a bad day at the office. Needing to score 168 from 50-overs to win, Rose Hall Town reached 40-1 but then collapsed to 45-5 in the 12th over as the Albion spinners took control.

He added 45 for the 10th wicket with Shamar Scott who contributed with just 3. With 6 runs required from 16 balls, Rampersaud was beaten in flight by part time spinner Tameshwar Mahadeo and was caught and bowled for 93 to spark celebrations from the Albion team.

Rampersaud was named player-of-the-finals and also took home the Best Batsman award. Over $200,000 worth of cash and prizes were shared out. Four batsmen Mahendra Gopilall, Leon Cecil, Jonathan De Veira and Rampersaud received either batting pads or gloves for scoring centuries during the tournament.
