Government has announced two major fora next week to discuss developments in the mobile and broadcast businesses.
According to the Ministry of Public Telecommunications, it is collaborating with the National Frequency Management Unit (NFMU) to host two interactive discussions on Tuesday, August 14 and Wednesday, August 15, at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.
“The public discussions, led by Dr. Andres Navarro Cadavid, Consultant to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), are intended to bring the nation up to date with global and regional developments in International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT) and New Broadcast Technologies.
Ministry officials, including technology experts attached to the NFMU will participate in the discussions and field questions from the audience, the ministry disclosed.
On Tuesday, the three-hour discussion on new broadband technologies is scheduled to begin at 9.00 am, and the following day, discussions on broadcast trends and technologies will commence at 2.30 pm.
ICT business owners, students and other stakeholders are invited to participate in these discussions that are intended to bring operators and new entrants into the telecommunications sector up to date with trends and new policies at work in the world today.
