They are now the only two unbeaten teams left standing in the inaugural East Bank Football Association (EBFA) / Juicy Juice Under-13 League. Timehri Panthers Sports Club blanked Diamond Upsetters, while Agricola Red Triangle handed Diamond United their first loss when play continued on Sunday last at the Timehri Red Ground.
Crafting Agricola’s comfortable win was birthday boy and the league’s leading goal scorer Eon Daniels who scored all the goals in their 5-2 win over Diamond United. Timehri Panthers SC were in equally rampaging form in their 6-0 win over Diamond Upsetters.
Daniels, who was kept scoreless against Soesdyke in their 1-1 draw on Saturday, wasted little time in getting back into goal scoring mode, his first and 20th of the league came in the 8th minute.
Thereafter, Daniels who celebrated his 12th birthday also on Sunday, scored in the 10th, 20th, 31st and 49th minutes to secure Agricola’s fifth win in six matches along with one draw. Diamond United did enjoy some good moments in the match but were unable to repeat what Soesdyke did when they kept Daniels quiet.
The United boys got goals of their own in the 27th minute from Shakeem Welcome and Captain Ronaldo Adams with a ripper of a shot that busted the nets in the 30th minute. Agricola have sneaked ahead of Diamond United on goal difference and have a game in hand.
Timehri posted their sixth win in as many matches, their 6-0 triumph against Diamond Upsetters taking them back to the top of the points table. The win was orchestrated by a brace of goals each from Antoine Denny in the 6th and 45th minutes; Joshua Clenkian converting in the 19th and 22nd minutes.
Opening the scoring in the 3rd minute was Patrick Paul, while Joel Williams added his name to the score sheet in the 30th minute. Play will continue this weekend at the same venue.
