Guyana’s leading youth and sports organisation, the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, MS has joined hands with Nand Persaud Group of Companies to assist young cricketers with their own cricket bats. The distribution of the bats would be done in early August and would be part of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club celebration of its Patron, President David Granger 73rd Birthday. The Club under its Patron’s Fund would be sharing out school bags, exercise books, bicycles and cricket bats. The Club would also be sponsoring the Patron’s Green Economy Cricket Tournament which would be organised by the Berbice Cricket Board as part of its packed 2018 Cricket Season.
Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster, who also serves as President of the Berbice Cricket Board, stated that the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club is by far, the largest supporter of Berbice Cricket and its record of assistance to Clubs and Cricketers are unmatched across the Caribbean. The Club over the last two decades has assisted over one hundred Cricket Clubs and countless players with cricket gears, balls, scorebooks, stumps, trophies, medals and prizes. This, Foster stated is part of the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club effort to make sure that every youth fulfills his/her full potentials on the cricket field.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sport Club has also invested heavily in its own membership and every junior member has received their own cricket bat. The Club would continue to do so in the future and Foster hailed the cooperation of longtime sponsor Nand Persaud Co. Ltd. Special mention was made of Managing Director Mohindra Persaud and Marketing Officer, Ms Amanda.
In an effort to assist those who need assistance the most, the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club is inviting Cricket Clubs to submit the names of Under-15 Players who have great potential and is discipline, hard working and dedicated. The Awardees would be selecting by a committee headed by Vice President Mark Papannah and includes Asst Secretary Simon Naidu and Cricket Manager Robby Kissoonlall.
