When de Speaker talk let no damn dog bark. That is what de people in de national Assembly now saying. One MP decide to write a letter in de newspaper talking bout how de speaker two-face. De letter claim how when de government side do something and de opposition object, de Speaker does tell de opposition to sit down and to shut up.
De same letter writer claim that when de opposition seh something and de government object, de Speaker does tell de opposition to withdraw dem comment. Indeed, de man who write de letter provide couple example of what he was talking about.
Old people got a saying, “When yuh see snake in de grass keep yuh distance.” Dem boys seh all dem people been in de parliament longer than Harry—that is de man who write de letter—and none of dem ever dream to write a letter criticising de Speaker. When de Speaker seh something all of dem does quietly pull dem tail between dem legs. But not Harry. He tek lead up and he write de letter. People don’t know if he believe de Speaker don’t read de newspaper, but as soon as Parliament call yesterday, de Speaker jump pun Harry. He tell Harry how he can criticize but only in Parliament, because that is de case all over de world.
But Harry friends know that from de time Harry did open he mouth de Speaker woulda tell him to shut up and tek he seat. He coulda behave like Ten Edghill and refuse and cause de Speaker to call de police but then again, after Edghill find out that he lose he pay nobody gun tek that chance again.
Harry sit down and tek de busing. But de PPP put anodda lash pun de Speaker. This time he can’t seh is a MP because de statement ain’t got no name. But de statement right. You can’t call pun de devil to try a case in hell. In de same way de Speaker can’t be de judge fuh he own case.
De story gun get sweet.
Talk half and watch de Speaker trying to be judge, jury and executioner.
