The event which is coordinated by cycling coach Randolph Roberts is being held in honour of the late engineer who passed away five years ago at the age of 96.
The event will now begin with a rolling start from his childhood place of residence at Betsy Ground, East Canje Berbice which is a further three miles from his former place of residence at Canefield East Canje. At Canefield the cyclists will get the starters flag. They will then proceed to the No 51 Police Station before turning back to finish at his former residence at Canefield, East Canje, covering a total of 62 miles.
